Launching "Family for Every Child" project in Sidama Region

The launch of the "Family for Every Child" project represents a significant step toward strengthening child protection systems and creating lasting opportunities for vulnerable children and families in Sidama Region.

We has officially launched our flagship "Family for Every Child" project, marking a historic milestone in the organization's commitment to ensuring that every child grows up in a safe, loving, and protective family environment.

The five-year initiative aims to improve the lives of orphaned, abandoned, street-connected, and other vulnerable children through family-style care, family strengthening, education, health services, and sustainable community support across Sidama Region.

The project launching ceremony was held at Gezahign and Elfenesh Resort in Hawassa, bringing together representatives from government institutions, civil society organizations, development partners, and community stakeholders.

During the event, Mr. Yalew Tamirat, Executive Director of Empower In Action, presented the project's vision, objectives, implementation strategy, expected outcomes, and long-term impact. He emphasized the importance of collaboration among government institutions, communities, and development partners to ensure that every vulnerable child has the opportunity to grow up in a caring family and reach their full potential.

The technical discussion was jointly led by the Director of the CSO Affairs Directorate of the Sidama Regional State Finance Bureau and the Director of the Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation Directorate of the Sidama Regional Women, Youth and Social Affairs Bureau. Both officials commended the initiative for addressing one of the region's most pressing child protection priorities and reaffirmed their institutions' commitment to working closely with Empower In Action throughout the implementation period.

Participants expressed their strong appreciation for the initiative, describing it as timely, impactful, and well aligned with the region's child welfare and development priorities. They highlighted the importance of coordinated action among government, civil society, communities, and development partners, and pledged their support for the successful implementation of the project over the next five years.
